Have you ever felt like there is a wall built around your heart, preventing you from experiencing true joy, love and peace? You are not alone. Many of us carry a “heart-wall” – a collection of emotional blocks, unresolved heart-wounds, and negative core beliefs that have been stored in the subconscious mind. This wall can act as a barrier, keeping us from releasing the pain of past experiences and living our lives to the fullest. However, it is possible to uncover and release your heart-wall, leading to greater emotional freedom, clarity and an overall sense of wellbeing. In this article, you will learn what your heart-wall is, why you have it, and how to begin the process of releasing it.
What is a heart-wall?
A heart-wall is a barrier or “wall” that forms around the heart, preventing one from experiencing true joy and love. It is usually formed from a combination of emotional blocks, unresolved heart-wounds, and negative core beliefs. Heart-walls differ from other types of “walls” in that they are typically built around the heart, not the head. Examples of other types of “walls” include intellectual walls, behavioral walls, social walls, and spiritual walls.
Why do people have heart-walls?
Most people have some form of heart-wall. They are formed from the expositions of positive and negative experiences, both in and out of childhood, that become imprinted on our consciousness and stored in the subconscious mind. Once there, they are often played and replayed over and over again like a broken record, giving rise to negative thoughts, emotions and core beliefs about ourselves, others and life in general. Because the subconscious mind is largely out of our conscious awareness and doesn’t have the ability to discriminate between what is true and what is false, these imprinted experiences are treated as “facts”, leading to a false sense of self and a feeling of being trapped in a cycle of self-imposed suffering.
Identifying and uncovering your heart-wall
The first step in releasing your heart-wall is to identify it. You can do so by reflecting on past experiences, both positive and negative, and asking yourself the following questions:
– What core beliefs do I hold about myself and others that may be false and/or based on past experiences?
– Which relationships, experiences or events from my past are most likely causing my heart-wall?
– What false beliefs about myself, others and life do I need to let go of in order to release my heart-wall?
If you’re having trouble identifying your heart-wall, there are a few exercises you can do. One is the “three-part journaling exercise”. Begin by jotting down three things you want more of in your life, such as more joy, peace and love. Then, jot down three things that are currently holding you back from experiencing these things, such as negative thoughts and emotions.
Finally, answer the following questions:
– What false beliefs about myself, others and life do I need to let go of in order to release my heart-wall?
Releasing your heart-wall
Once you have identified your heart-wall, you can begin the process of releasing it. There are two primary ways to go about this. The first is to “cleanse” and “balance” the energy surrounding your heart. The second is to “retrain” your subconscious mind. Let’s take a look at each of these.
– Cleansing the energy surrounding the heart. The heart is the seat of love and compassion, it is the place where our feelings of connection and compassion can be felt most deeply. The pain, sadness and anger that we’ve experienced throughout our lives can get locked up in our bodies, especially around the heart. Cleansing the energy surrounding your heart can help you to release old pain and negative emotions, and get you back into a place of peace and clarity. There are a number of different techniques you can use to do this, such as heart-coherence, the heart-centered healing process and the use of crystal and sound healing.
– Re-training the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is the place where our core beliefs are stored. These beliefs are like software programs that run automatically, creating our day-to-day reality. When we have false core beliefs, they can cause us to experience self-doubt, fear, frustration and self-limitation in our lives.
In order to release these false beliefs, we must re-train our subconscious mind to accept new beliefs as true, and replace these false programs with new and beneficial ones.
Strategies for releasing your heart-wall
There are a number of strategies you can use to support the process of releasing your heart-wall. These include:
– Journaling –
Journaling is one of the most powerful self-exploration tools available, and can help you to identify, explore and heal your emotions and core beliefs.
– Meditation –
Meditation is great for developing self-awareness and bringing you into the present moment. It can help you to let go of negative thoughts and emotions, and replace them with feelings of peace and clarity.
– Spiritual practices –
Spirituality is more than just a set of beliefs. It is the conscious, deliberate and ongoing effort to transcend ego and fully know the Self. It is a lifelong journey of self-discovery and expansion.
Benefits of releasing your heart-wall
There are many benefits that come from releasing your heart-wall. These include:
– An overall sense of wellbeing and emotional freedom
When you release your heart-wall, you give yourself permission to feel whatever emotions you may be holding in. You don’t have to push them down anymore or try to “stay positive”. This creates a space for you to let the emotions out, and move on from them.
– Clarity and emotional intelligence
When you release your heart-wall, you have a greater capacity for emotional intelligence. You are able to identify your emotions as they arise, and understand where they are coming from.
– Better relationships
If you have a heart-wall, it is likely that you will have a difficult time forming and maintaining healthy and fulfilling relationships. Releasing your heart-wall can help you to form closer and more authentic connections with the people in your life.
How to maintain an open heart
When you have successfully released your heart-wall, you will want to make sure to maintain an open heart so that you don’t build another wall around your heart! This can be challenging, especially when you are processing difficult emotions, but there are a few things you can do to make it easier.
– Be willing to feel –
There is no escaping the pain in life. No one is immune to feeling pain, sadness or disappointment. However, how we respond to these emotions makes all the difference. Instead of trying to escape your feelings and pain, try to be willing to feel them fully. Let them go and flow through you, but don’t let them take you over.
– Practice self-care –
Take the time to care for and nurture yourself, particularly when you are in the midst of processing difficult emotions.
– Keep growing and expanding –
Don’t let your guard down so much that you let others take advantage of you, or let yourself get stuck in a stagnant or unfulfilling situation. Instead, keep growing and expanding so that you have the strength and confidence to maintain an open heart.
What To Do If You Have a Heart-Wall
The most effective way we know to clear the Heart-Wall is using the Emotion Code, which is contained within the Body Code™. Often, clearing a Heart-Wall requires three to five sessions to be completely removed. This is because a Heart-Wall is typically made up of layers of emotional energy, or trapped emotions in the body. Each layer must be identified, then systematically cleared. By following the steps of the Emotion Code chart and the Body Code mindmaps, you may be able to clear these layers in a way that does not further interfere with your energy.
A Heart-Wall can be identified and removed by following the Emotion Code flowchart and self-testing or by working with a Certified Emotion Code or Body Code Practitioner.
Here are the general steps to follow, when clearing a Heart-Wall:
Even if the answer is no, your Heart-Wall may not be fully cleared. Often a Heart-Wall is comprised of multiple emotions, and it will take a number of sessions to fully release. The body can only process so many emotions in one session. If you are at your limit for a session, your subconscious will let you know. Give yourself time, then test again!
